Rana Ayyub put Rs 2.7 crore charity fund to own use: ED

The ED has filed a chargesheet against journalist activist Rana Ayyub, accusing her of fraudulently collecting Rs 2.7 crore from public to help slum dwellers, farmers and for relief work in Assam, Bihar and Maharashtra. Instead of charity work, the journalist laundered the money collected from people, creating personal assets and Rs 50 lakh in fixed deposits, the agency has claimed.
